Tis the season! This Christmas, treat your spicy, craving taste-buds with the taste of authentic Peach & Chilli Chutney.

Learn and cook this easy yet delicious recipe at home and serve your loved ones an added flavour of feast this season. Peach & Chilli Chutney is a special chutney made out of sweet juicy fruits with cardamom, spicy chillies, and ginger. 

Ingredients 

  • Red Chillies - 6 (Thumb-sized, finely chopped)
  • Peach - 700gms. (Peeled and cut into small dice)
  • Onion - 1, finely sliced.
  • Cumin Seed - 1 Tbsp
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Ginger - Thumb-sized (Peeled and finely cut)
  • Cardamom Seeds - 15
  • Light Brown Sugar - 200gms.
  • Cider Vinegar - 250ml

Mehtod

First, take some oil and an onion them on the heat in a frying pan until starting soften. Then add red chillies, peach, onion and other ingredients in the pan and increase the heat and stir them to dissolve the sugar. 

Now reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, until most of the liquid becomes evaporated and until the peaches become softened. This might take up to 45 minutes. In the meantime, sterilise your jars. 

Now the Chutney is ready. Transfer the Chutney to the jars, seal and leave it for cooling before you serve it. You can store the Chutney in a cool, dry place for up to 1 year. Once opened, keep the jar in the fridge after each use and make sure to consume all of the Chutney within 4 weeks.

Bonus tip: 

Wash and clean up the jars and lids in hot soapy water, rinse, remove seals, then dry in a low oven for about 5-10 minutes.
