Ingredients:
225 grams of spaghetti or your preferred pasta
4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced or minced
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Chopped parsley
Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until it's al dente. Remember to reserve some of the pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook until the garlic is fragrant and just starting to turn golden brown, being careful not to burn it. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and transfer it directly to the skillet with the garlic and olive oil. Toss the pasta well in the oil and garlic mixture, ensuring that the pasta is well coated.
- If the pasta seems a bit dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to help create a sauce. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Serve the pasta hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Enjoy your simple yet delicious alio e olio pasta!
