This Indian spice can be found in a variety of dishes, including eggplant curry and dosa. Black Sesame Seeds are the key ingredient to making the famous black sesame seeds chutney that is popular in India. Our black sesame seeds are packed in a sealed pouch with water to prevent them from going rancid and have a shelf life of 2 years when stored at room temperature or 1 year when stored in a refrigerator. Black Sesame Seeds are used to make this popular Indian spice, which is a mainstay in many dishes, including eggplant curry and dosa. The black color of these seeds sets them apart from regular Sesame Seeds, which come in a variety of shades ranging from brownish-black to yellowish-tan. Black Sesame Seeds are also different because they are processed without oil, so they have less fat than their oilier counterparts and are typically drier, making them great for roasting or grinding into chutneys or powders.

Black Sesame Seeds are a staple of Indian cooking, commonly used as an ingredient in the Indian condiment called tandoori masala. Sesame seeds are prized for their nutty flavor and crunchy texture that is often compared to that of poppy seeds.

A staple in Indian cooking, black sesame seeds are ground into a paste called til or til ka tel and are used in desserts like laddoos, pedas, and barfis, as well as on top of sweets such as jalebi. Black sesame seeds are also used to make popular snacks such as seedhiya bhujia, methi sev, and til dosa with chutney.
